1. How Our Catering Service Works
Cafe Tehran offers pre-order catering for private events, birthdays, corporate functions, and cultural celebrations. All catering orders are prepared fresh to your selected event date by our chefs using authentic Persian recipes.
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that the details you provide are accurate.
2. How to Order
Orders can be placed through our Catering & Events page. During checkout you will choose one of two fulfilment methods:
- Collect in Store — You collect your order from our premises at 292 Dumbarton Rd, Glasgow G11 6TD. Payment is made on arrival.
- Delivery — We deliver to your door. Payment is made online via Stripe at the time of ordering. Our team will contact you to confirm the delivery window.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a tracking link so you can follow your order's progress in real time.
3. Private Space Hire
Cafe Tehran offers two private hire spaces: the Viper Room (up to 30 guests) and the Entire Floor (up to 50 guests). All bookings are subject to the following terms.
Deposit & Payment
- A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your date (space-only bookings).
- When catering is included, full payment is taken upfront in a single transaction.
- The minimum hire period is 2 hours.
- The remaining balance (space-only bookings) is due no later than 7 days before your event date. For same-week bookings, full payment is required upfront.
Advance Booking Discounts
The following discounts are applied automatically at checkout:
- 7–13 days ahead — 5% off the space hire total
- 14–29 days ahead — 10% off the space hire total
- 30+ days ahead — 15% off the space hire total
Discounts are calculated from the date of booking confirmation and cannot be combined with other promotional offers.
Cancellations
- Cancellations with more than 48 hours notice will receive a refund of all payments made, minus a £10 processing fee.
- Cancellations within 48 hours of the event — the deposit is forfeited in full, as we will have turned away other bookings for your date.
- If Cafe Tehran must cancel your booking, all payments will be refunded in full within 5 business days.
4. Combined Space & Catering Bookings
You may book a private hire space and add catering items in a single checkout. By doing so you agree to the following additional terms.
- One Stripe payment covers both the space hire deposit and the full value of all food items selected.
- A food discount (typically 10%) is automatically applied to the space hire portion of your total when catering is added. The exact percentage is displayed at checkout.
- The catering order is treated as confirmed once payment is received. Amendments to food items can be requested up to 48 hours before your event by contacting us.
- Standard catering cancellation terms (Section 6) apply to the food portion of your booking. Space hire cancellation terms (Section 3) apply to the venue deposit.
5. Contact & WhatsApp Marketing
By placing an order you agree that Cafe Tehran may contact you via the phone number you provide, including via WhatsApp, for the following purposes:
- Order confirmations and status updates
- Delivery time estimates and coordination
- Follow-up messages to ensure you were satisfied with your order
- Occasional promotional messages about upcoming events, seasonal menus, and special offers at Cafe Tehran
You can opt out of promotional WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. Transactional messages related to your current order cannot be opted out of until the order is fulfilled.
6. Payment & Refunds
Delivery orders are paid online via Stripe. Payments are processed securely and your card details are never stored by us.
Collection orders are paid in full on collection. We accept card and cash.
Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellations requested more than 48 hours before your event date will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations requested between 24–48 hours before your event date will receive a 50% refund.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable because ingredients will already have been purchased and preparation begun.
- If we are unable to fulfil your order for any reason we will issue a full refund within 5–10 business days.

7. Delivery Area & Fees
We currently deliver within the Glasgow city area. Please contact us before placing a delivery order if you are unsure whether your postcode falls within our delivery zone.
Delivery fees, if applicable, will be communicated to you by our team after your order is received. We will not charge additional fees without your agreement.
Estimated delivery times are provided in good faith but may vary depending on traffic and order volume, especially during peak periods.
8. Allergens & Dietary Requirements
Our kitchen handles a wide range of ingredients including nuts, dairy, gluten, and sesame. We cannot guarantee that any item is completely free from allergens. If you have a severe allergy please contact us directly before ordering.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our catering service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Phone Verification & SMS
To confirm your identity and protect against fraud, we use phone number verification via SMS at the time of booking or ordering. A one-time passcode (OTP) will be sent to your mobile number by our SMS provider (Twilio).
- Your phone number is used solely for verification and order communication purposes.
- We do not sell or share your number with third parties for marketing.
- SMS codes expire after 10 minutes and are single-use.
- Standard message rates from your carrier may apply.
- This processing is carried out under our legitimate interests and your consent as required by UK GDPR.
11. Your Profile & Data
When you verify your phone number, a lightweight profile is created and linked to your verified number. This profile stores:
- Your verified phone number
- Optionally: your name and email address (only if you choose to add them)
- A reference to your past orders placed via this website
Your profile is accessible at /profile when your session cookie is present. You can update your name and email at any time.
To request deletion of your profile and associated data, please contact us via WhatsApp or email. We will process deletion requests within 30 days in accordance with UK GDPR.
Cookies
We use a single HTTP-only, secure, first-party cookie (ct_profile_id) to maintain your session after phone verification. This cookie does not track you across other websites and is not used for advertising. It expires after 1 year or when you clear your browser data.
12. Deposit & Cancellation Policy (Private Hire)
A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all private hire bookings (Viper Room and Full Venue). This deposit is collected at the time of booking via Stripe.
- The deposit is deducted from your final balance due on the day of your event.
- The deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation regardless of notice period. This is because we turn away other bookings once your date is confirmed.
- In the unlikely event that Cafe Tehran must cancel your booking, your deposit will be refunded in full within 5 business days.
- The remaining balance (agreed hire fee less the 30% deposit) is due no later than 7 days before your event date. For same-week bookings, full payment is required upfront.
13. Google Calendar Integration
Where available, we provide a Google Calendar link with your booking confirmation so you can easily add your event to your personal calendar. This is a convenience feature only — the calendar event is created in our Google Workspace calendar and shared with you as a read-only invite.
We do not access your personal Google Calendar. The calendar link only allows you to view or add the event to your own calendar.
14. Data Retention
We retain booking and order data for the following periods:
- Order records: 7 years (required for accounting/tax compliance)
- Booking records: 3 years from the event date
- OTP verification codes: Deleted automatically 24 hours after creation
- Profile data: Retained until you request deletion
- Chat logs (Telegram bot): 90 days of conversation history
After the applicable retention period, data is deleted or anonymised. You may request early deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
